Office of the Treaty Commissioner Resources

The Office of the Treaty Commissioner (OTC) has been holding mapping activities as part of reconciliation efforts in communities. MCoS staff and board invited them to lead us through it as we finalized our strategic plan. It was engaging and thought-provoking, including matching multicultural values with reconciliation values.

We also learned about a newly released survey on attitudes toward reconciliation. The results and analysis where both surprising and stimulating. The OTC has resources available and operates a speakers' bureau aimed at increasing Saskatchewan knowledge about Treaty history, relationship, and responsibilities, to improve relations between all Saskatchewan communities.

National Francophone Immigration Week

The National Francophone Immigration week is an opportunity to bring together Francophones from diverse backgrounds and to promote dialogue and build community. The provincial and national events will highlight the importance of families, both biological and adoptive.

Francophones, Francophile, and Franco-curious are invited to participate in the many activities like school celebrations, workshops and training sessions dealing with immigration, and cultural evenings across Canada. Save the date, November 3 -9.
