TESL Canada March Webinar Announcement
TESL Canada is pleased to announce that Dr. Amea Wilbur will be offering a webinar on trauma-informed teaching to TESL Canada members on Wednesday March 11th at 11am Pacific time (12pm Mountain, 1pm Central, 2pm Eastern, 3pm Atlantic, and 3:30 NL). Workshop
This webinar will start with a discussion of how trauma may present itself in a classroom environment. We will then explore how we can support learners who have experienced trauma, through using an interactive approach. Lastly, we will look at the importance of self-care and advocacy in supporting learners with trauma histories.

Bio
Dr. Amea Wilbur is an instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley and has worked in the settlement sector for many years in Vancouver. She holds an EdD from the Department of Educational Studies, UBC, and recently co-authored a book through TESOL International called The 6 Principles for Exemplary Teaching of English Learners: Adult Literacy and Workforce Development. Dr Wilbur completed her doctorate in Education at UBC, where she explored ways to make government-funded language training more inclusive for students who have experienced trauma. She has facilitated numerous workshops on trauma-informed practices for settlement and language providers both provincially and nationally.
