My name is Tetyana Bidna. I am a TESL Sask accredited ESL professional and a student at the University of Chichester (UK) working on my Master's dissertation. I am writing to kindly request your support in sharing information about my research with your network of ESL professionals to reach potential participants. I can be reached at [email protected]

The title of my research is “What is the impact of Generative AI use on ESL instructors’ perceptions of their creativity and effectiveness in material creation for writing lessons within Canadian adult ESL programs?”

I am currently seeking participants who meet the following criteria:

  • ESL or EAP instructors teaching at the tertiary level in Canada;
  • A minimum of five years of teaching experience;
  • At least one year of using Generative AI tools in lesson planning or materials development for writing instruction.
The participation will involve:
  • Completion of a survey about experiences of using Gen AI tools in material creation for writing lessons and AI impact on teachers' perception of their creativity and effectiveness.
  • Participation in an individual 45-60-minute recorded interview to share experiences and views on the use of Gen AI while creating materials for ESL writing instruction. The interview will be conducted online.
