Alex Parker and Heather Mehrtens are looking to interview TESOL teachers of color to best understand their
emotional labor experiences within the profession. If you are interested in participating, and agree, you will be
invited to participate in an interview. The interview will ask you about your teaching experiences related to your
emotional expression and regulation, as well as the role your race and/or ethnicity may play into these
experiences. The interview will last around 25-30 minutes and will help them to understand a topic that they
believe needs more research attention.
Any participation in the study is voluntary. Your identity as a participant will remain confidential during and after
the study, nor will this data be reported back to your school or district.
