Reporting to the Executive Director, the Bi-Lingual Urban Coordinator will support the work of SAISIA in facilitating effective engagement and coordination with Settlement Service Providers in Regina, Saskatoon and Francophone based organizations and communities throughout the province with the goal of fostering excellence in settlement services in Saskatchewan. This will include developing and circulating resources to the Saskatchewan Urban and Francophone sector involving collaborative initiatives and development of tools, member outreach, communication, and multi-stakeholder engagement events

Position Purpose and Objectives

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Bi-Lingual Urban Coordinator will support the work of SAISIA in facilitating effective engagement and coordination with Settlement Service Providers in Regina, Saskatoon and Francophone based organizations and communities throughout the province with the goal of fostering excellence in settlement services in Saskatchewan. This will include developing and circulating resources to the Saskatchewan Urban and Francophone sector involving collaborative initiatives and development of tools, member outreach, communication, and multi-stakeholder engagement events

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support the Francophone Sector to ensure their perspective and voice is being represented during larger sector conversations as well as inquiring on current gaps, best practices, and future directions
  • Engages the sector to establish, maintain and promote synergistic partnerships among the Urban and Francophone stakeholders to promote collective impact
  • Develop a comprehensive sector engagement strategy, formulate workplans, set milestones and measure benefit/impact
  • Represent the sector at local, regional, and national levels
  • Facilitate partner & stakeholder consultations to collaboratively identify challenges to the sector, develops and implements sector advocacy initiatives around the identified issues
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate workplans of the Working Group(s) to achieve and set goals in line with the Helping Immigrants Succeed Initiative
  • Continually review the Terms of Reference of the Working Group(s) in collaboration with team members and make changes where appropriate
  • Organize meetings for the Working groups, and other stakeholders. This includes facilitation and note taking and timely communications. The meetings typically serve as forums to share information, identify issues of common concern, service gaps, trends, and seek solutions
  • Collaborate with the Working Groups to develop or source standardized tools and resources to facilitate effective and consistent information/data collection and reporting
  • Collaborate with partner agencies in specific areas on the implementation of data collection tools
  • Obtain, analyze, collate, manage data for the provincial dashboard development and develop info graphics for partners & stakeholders
  • Regularly review/revise the standardized data collection tools and associated resources, and facilitate end-user training sessions on the implementation of revised data collection tools
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate community development and partnership building strategies including an accountability framework to ensure effective monitoring
  • Participate in community committees that relate to high priority settlement issues
  • Keep current on sector issues, trends, approaches, and practices

Other Duties

  • Participate in development of SAISIA’s annual work plan and provide required reports prior to established deadlines
  • Support SAISIA team in development and coordination of special event, activities, and training
  • Collaborate with the SAISIA team and other Umbrella Organizations in the Prairies on special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Work will be mostly performed in indoor office setting but regular travel and access to reliable vehicle will be required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Fluency in both English and French with strong communication skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
  • University bachelor’s degree in one of the Social Sciences or a related degree
  • Comfortable travelling Provincially and Nationally with regular access to reliable vehicle
  • Excellent ability to navigate Federal, Provincial and Municipal government bodies
  • Strong understanding of Settlement Sector dynamics with 2+ years experience
  • Excellent group facilitation and presentation ability
  • Research, data analysis, and evaluation skills
  • Excellent writing skills, proficiency in the use of computer and other office equipment
  • Knowledge of existing community resources for newcomer populations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Proven accountability, resourcefulness, initiative, flexibility, and professionalism
  • Strong ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team-oriented, cross-cultural setting
  • Familiarity with logistics for event planning and coordination, an asset

Additional Requirement

  • Up-to-date Criminal Record Check
  • Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Bi-lingual ability is a strong asset
