Canadian Index of Well-being - Saskatchewan Report
Heritage Saskatchewan, in partnership with the Community Initiatives Fund recently released the Saskatchewan Index of Well-being (SIW) report. SIW is a resource that expands our understanding of how well our communities and citizens are faring beyond the economic measures of the Gross Domestic Product.
Results of the study say that overall well-being in Saskatchewan has risen by 13.2 per cent since 1994. While this is over the Canada average of 9.5 per cent, it is still well short of Saskatchewan's economic growth of 44 per cent over the same time period.
