Take Out a Sask Lotteries Subscription Sask Lotteries funds over 12,000 sport, culture and recreation groups across Saskatchewan. Every time you purchase a lottery ticket in Saskatchewan, a portion of that revenue supports a wealth of organizations in our communities. Subscriptions allow lottery players to play draw based games – including LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49, WESTERN MAX, WESTERN 649, DAILY GRAND and EXTRA – for up to a year in advance. OSAC Artist Listing Helps Increase Access to Artists As a way to help visual artists, in Saskatchewan and beyond, as well as to help Arts Councils find potential workshop leaders, OSAC has developed an Artist Listing page where artists can create a page that includes what they do and easy access to websites or Etsy sites for sales. Better Eligibility Rules for Charities and Nonprofits for 75% Wage Subsidy Needed The Government of Canada is working with the nonprofit and charitable sector to refine rules and clarifications regarding the 75% wage subsidy for employees in the sector. The new subsidy will provide up to 75% of the remuneration paid (between March 15 and June 6), to a maximum of $847 per employee, per week, whichever is less. Clarification is being sought on how the 15% revenue drop will be measured for charities and nonprofits. More information about the wage subsidy program can be found here. |
Extensions and Increases to Canada Summer Jobs Since most businesses only felt the impact of COVID-19 halfway through the month, the government has also announced temporary changes to the Canada Summer Jobs program. Now, employers who hire summer students can apply for a subsidy of up to 100 per cent to cover the cost, helping create up to 70,000 jobs for Canadians between the ages of 15 and 30. Protecting Privacy on Zoom With an increase in video conferencing due to more people working from home, video conferencing services such as Zoom are seeing an uptick in usage. But this increase has also led to an increase in bad-faith actors targeting this platforms. 'Zoom-Bombing' attacks on live conferences, as well as privacy concerns, should be top of mind for those using these services to connect their workplaces. Sask Lotteries Extends Prize Claim Period In response to the social distancing measures in place due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Sask Lotteries has announced that ticket expiry dates for any ticket that would have expired from March 17 until September 17, 2020 will be extended by six months. Players will have 18 months from the draw date of your ticket or an additional six months from the expiration date printed on the back of a Zing scratch ticket to make a prize claim.
