A.C.L.E., a non-profit educational association based in Sanremo, Italy, accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education. A.C.L.E. has over 35 years of experience in the language-teaching and language-learning sector. Each summer the association trains and places more than 300 native English speakers (trainee tutors) in camps to teach English to Italian children and teenagers through theatre.
The TEFL-TP© study programme may be of interest to those who are seeking TEFL certification.
The programme runs throughout the summer (June-September) and gives tutors the opportunity to teach English across Italy, while receiving a paid study grant, food and accommodation, transport between camps, and training to be TEFL-TP© (Teaching English as a Foreign Language Through Theatre and Play) certified at the end of the programme.
There are three compulsory components to the programme: an online Distance Learning Course, a 5-day orientation at one of our Italian sites, and a minimum of three weeks (120 hours) supervised tutoring on our camps.
While many applicants apply for the opportunity to travel around Italy, we are particularly keen to attract those who also have a keen interest in education and/or languages to allow us to continue providing our Italian students with the best possible experience.
A.C.L.E.’s mission has always been to offer something that cannot be found in the Italian scholastic system, and we believe that the key is having tutors who inspire and enliven their students.
More information about our programme and mission can be found on our website (www.acle.org), and we also have an information pack available for universities who wish to have a more detailed overview of the programme.
