TESOL International: Call for Award Nominations

Nominate a colleague for the Virginia French Allen Award for Scholarship and Service. This award recognizes an English teacher who has shared scholarship and provided service to a TESOL International Association affiliate. The nomination deadline is Oct. 1st!

Dear TESOL Affiliate Members from TESL Saskatchewan,

I am on the Awards Professional Council for the TESOL International Association. I am writing to tell you about the Virginia French Allen Award for Scholarship and Service. This award recognizes an English teacher who has shared scholarship and provided service to a TESOL International Association affiliate. The prize is a 3-year membership, or membership extension, in the TESOL International Association, including a subscription to the journal TESOL Quarterly. Surely there is a member of your teacher association who is deserving of this award!

It’s so easy to apply for it! The application only requires a letter of nomination which explains the contributions the member has made to the affiliate association, a second letter of support, and a copy of the member’s CV. Nominees do not even have to be members of the TESOL International Association, just your affiliate! More information about the award and the application process can be found here: AWARD INFORMATION (right click to open a new tab).

The deadline to apply for this year’s award is October 1, 2019. No one received the award this past year because no one applied! Here’s your chance to honor a colleague who has done so much for your association.

Let's celebrate those colleagues who have given their time and energy to foster the professional growth of others. Submit an award nomination today!

Sincerely,

Nikki Ashcraft
