Bio: Sofia Elgueta Duplancic (BEd, MA in Linguistics) is ATESL's President and an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Alberta, where she teaches English for Academic Purposes. She has 20+ years of experience teaching ESL in South America and Canada. She is committed to professional development and to incorporating current best practices in ESL and language teaching in an environment of student-centred learning, in a more inclusive classroom where all students can thrive.
